Yes, they were coming back to their soil, the soil where eastern sun rises and fills the nature mountains and rivers with golden lights!

While going by the train Dev smiled at his American wife Grace, its almost 15 years they have settled in US as famous ophthalmologists.

The trees swirling, the chirping of colorful birds, the cows grazing over a big green pastured field is sight worth praising and so much full of unconditional love!

They reached their village Krishnappa, finally via bus after taking the long journey first by airplane then by train.

‘Oh! The smell of Indian Soil, with mantras and chantings coming from the huts of the villagers, we have indeed arrived at the spiritual capital of the world!’-Dev said.

It was coming up of the festival of light- Diwali and villagers are cleaning and decorating their homes and Village yards. Cows, Goats, Hens and Buffaloes are given bath before worshiping them.

But wait what is this Grace is observing almost all villagers are finding it difficult to open their eyes properly and being a doctor, she understood these are the symptoms of-Retinitis Pigmentosa! a rare eye disease which progresses towards loss of vision, Dev’s mother confirmed her the same.

It was the day before Diwali, Grace is helping her mother-in law to decorate the house with Rangoli and Earthen Diyas, with so much love in her heart!

And it was the night before Diwali, both Grace and Dev were lightning the Earthen Diyas , Dev and Grace looked at each other and they communicated with each other their desire to stay back and just like the festival of lights Diwali, They promised to brighten up people’s lives with light.

The doctor couple will stay back and bring the light back to their villagers by treating and getting back their vision, this Diwali!
